remindmeofthepups: (Mibuchi Reo)
[Following this]

Most of a day, a couple dozen shops, and a hundred possible outfits after they started, the shopping trip has ended in success.

(Not that Reo would have allowed any other outcome.)

He tried to warn Kuroko about what he was in for, but a warning is never enough to prepare a person for reality, and Reo is impressed with both the dedication and the stamina Kuroko displayed in keeping up with him. He's known hardier-seeming shoppers to fade far faster, but Kuroko staunchly refused to be bested. The task itself was the kind of challenge Reo welcomes - an outfit that would have the effect Kuroko specified, working with with his lack of presence and lower budget than Reo is used to - and their success left Reo energized with triumph. Kuroko was clearly exhausted, though, so Reo offered to buy him dinner to get some of his strength back. It was only fair - while he had technically been doing Kuroko a favor, Kuroko had definitely not asked to be dragged over half of Tokyo, and Reo thinks he deserves a reward. The place he suggests is casual and inexpensive, so that Kuroko won't worry over the cost of the meal, but not so cheap as to imply Reo doesn't think his companion worth spending the money on.

Once they've settled in at their table and are looking at menus, Reo says,

"Thank you for thinking of me for this, Kuroko-kun, I haven't had the chance to do any real shopping in far too long."
